Capital High Placed on Lockdown

SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO – Capital High School was placed on a lockdown by law enforcement at approximately 12:37 p.m. as a precaution due to a weapon found in a student’s car. The weapon was not used or taken out of the car by any student. Police are currently at the school site.


As a precaution, the district has placed Nina Otero Community School and Cesar Chavez Elementary School in shelter in place. More details to follow as the district receives updates from law enforcement.
