SFPS is a District on the Move!
Beginning in 2016-17, SFPS increased the rigor for students to graduate from high school.  Though graduation rates dipped initially, students stayed the course and reached the higher standard.  In 2018, the overall graduation rate increased by 4.1%.  Congratulations to our students and teachers!  We are so proud of their accomplishment. See the data here.
SFPS has Statistically Significant Rates of Growth Over the Last Three Years and Outpaces State Growth on 2019 SBA Transition Scores. Some Schools Grow as High as 9%. VIEW RESULTS HERE    An Open Letter to the Voters of Santa Fe -  Maybe because I have spent most of my life in education, the fall has always seemed to me a time of excitement and renewal--a school year starts, students reunite with their friends, meet their new teachers and begin a year of challenge and discovery.  In addition to the excitement of a new year, my heart is filled with gratitude for the voters of Santa Fe County. Read entire letter here.   The Power of Leadership- Superintendent Dr. Veronica C. Garcia's thoughts on leadership: published article.

Teacher and Educational Support Professionals of the Month Program

In partnership with Nusenda Credit Union and NEA-Santa Fe, we are pleased to announce an initiative to honor our classroom teachers and educational support professionals (ESP’s) for their outstanding contributions to our students, their families, and the community we serve.

Educational Support Professionals (ESP’s) are a vital part of the educational environment, and they consist of the following positions: Secretaries, Educational Assistants (regular and special education), Nutrition Workers, Transportation Workers, Librarians, and Health Aides.

Each month, Nusenda will recognize a classroom teacher as the Teacher of the Month and NEA-Santa Fe will recognize an ESP for Santa Fe Public Schools. The chosen honorees will be surprised with certificates and gifts and recognized on the district websites and social media.

Students, parents, teachers, secretaries, principals, community members, and any other stakeholder may nominate a classroom teacher or ESP for this honor by completing a nomination form below or by completing a paper nomination form located at the front desk of all school sites. A diverse group of non-SFPS staff will review all nominations and select recipients to honor each month. Nominate your favorite teacher or ESP today! Please call (505) 467-2590 if you have any questions about this initiative.
