Yellow Volunteer Opportunities

Yellow Volunteers work within the district with limited student interaction, must meet all requirements, must be identified while onsite and may not be left with students unsupervised.

 

  • Administrative Support:

This would include clerical work for District or school site administration as well as teachers and support staff. This would include and is not limited to filing, photocopying, data entry, answering phones, etc. Available as needed throughout the District.

  • Artwork and Student Work in the Halls:

Collaborating with teachers to promote student work through professional display and presentation within the halls of each school site. This would include regular maintenance and rotation of student work in relation to current projects within the classroom. Available as needed throughout the District.

  • Community Engagement Support:

Working with the Community Engagement Department in a variety of capacities, which would include administrative support, processing and vetting volunteer applications and paperwork, supporting the District Social Worker, Digital Communications Specialist, Volunteer/Event Coordinator and Chief Community Engagement Officer. Available at Education Services Center.

  • Districtwide Event Planning:

Assist Community Engagement Department and Event Coordinator with planning, fundraising, volunteer recruitment and execution of Districtwide community events. Events could include, and are not limited to Back to School Bash, State of the Schools, Retirement Dinner and Volunteer Appreciation Incentives and events.  Available at Education Services Center.

  • Field Trips/Special Events:

Assistance with planning, organizing or chaperoning during school site events or field trips. Volunteers would offer support for District staff and student supervision during onsite or offsite events or field trips. Special events could include book fairs, science fairs, Thanksgiving Lunches or any other event that occurs throughout the year at any particular school site.

  • Fundraising: 

Volunteers will help with fundraising and solicitation from corporate sponsors for District or school site events, materials or supplies for classrooms, and programming or resources to contribute to student success. Available as needed throughout the District.

  • Help with Newsletters: 

Newsletters and memos are created on a regular and consistent basis throughout the District and at each school site. Help in this area would include design, solicitation, compilation, and proofreading content of the newsletter or fliers to be distributed.  Available as needed throughout the District.

  • ​Parent Involvement:

Parents are encouraged to help and assist within classrooms and in our schools. Many of our teachers are looking for parents to donate their time to aid in the classroom (outside of parent organizations). Available as needed throughout the District.
