If the SFPS District or City or County Agents determine that your child's school needs to be dismissed from a secondary location, a Family Reunification process must be performed. In this case all parents and guardians must be patient and prepared for this process. To guarantee the safety of all of our students, we must accomplish the following in an organized and effective manner.
When a parent/guardian arrives at the release point, s/he will be asked for the name of the student(s) being picked up and will be required to complete the Student Reunification Form. The parent/guardian will be required to show photo identification. When the staff member confirms the parent/guardian’s identity and authority to pick up the student (by looking at the Student Profile Sheet/PowerSchool database), the staff member will use a runner to notify the team member in the “Student Holding Area” that the designated student(s) are to be escorted to the release point. When the student(s) reports to the release point, the staff member will have the parent/guardian sign for the student(s) on Student Reunification Form and the student(s) are released.
You will be asked for one of the following forms of identity:
-a valid drivers license or state ID cared
-a military ID
-a valid passport
As well, you must be listed on the child's profile sheet as authorized to pick up the child from school. If you do not have the correct ID or are not listed on the profile sheet, the child will not be released to you.
