National Board Certification (NBCT) is the most respected professional certification available in education. It was designed to develop, retain, and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide.

Nurses, School counselors, and School Administrators can also achieve National Board Certification.

SFPS Career Pathway System for Related Services Personnel

nurses

School nurses who hold a BSN and have completed at least 1000 hours of work as a school nurse are eligible to take the National Certification for School Nurses exam. This test is the first part of the Career Pathway System for advancement from level 2 to level 3. The second part of the process involves a substantial portfolio project.
