Santa Fe Public Schools Expands
21st Century Community Learning Centers
to 14 Schools for 2016-17

SFPS was awarded a federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers  grant for after school programs at 14 elementary and middle schools. The grant gives SFPS a chance to focus on students who are struggling academically. Parents need to commit to their child attending daily Monday through Thursday. See your principal to learn if your child qualifies. Programs include:

  • Academic, artistic and cultural opportunities for children, especially for students who attend high poverty schools, to improve skills in reading, math and science.

  • Activities to include families and the community in the educational process. After school snacks will be provided.

  •  SFPS will work with community partners to provide enriching after school program experiences, including:  Cooking with Kids, Communities in Schools, Global Warming Express, Earth Care, Code.org, GUTS, Girls Inc., Partners in Education, Santa Fe Botanical Garden, Santa Fe Community Foundation, United Way of Santa Fe, Santa Fe Farmers Market Institute, Institute for Spanish Arts, Skate School, Adelante, and many others.
