Diabetes Club

The SFPS Diabetes Club was created in 2022 with the mission of supporting young people affected by diabetes (Type 1 and 2) and their families through camaraderie and shared experiences.
We believe that young people with diabetes can do anything! We also recognize that this diagnosis comes with challenges that other peers may not understand. It is helpful to know others traveling a similar road.
Our group meets several times throughout the school year for activities and shared meals (with identified carb counts 🙂).
We welcome any young person with diabetes and their family to join our activities (you don’t have to be an SFPS student to participate).
For more information, please reach out to Myrna Barbee-Lee, BSN, RN, NCSN, SFPS Lead Nurse at mbarbee@sfps.k12.nm.us.

Thank you to the Santa Fe Lion’s Club for providing funding for our
activities and diabetes camp scholarships for SFPS students.
