21st Century Community Learning Centers

SFPS was awarded a four-year federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant in 2021 for after-school enrichment programs at 13 elementary schools. The 2022-2023 school year is the second year of this grant cycle. SFPS plans on submitting the grant for the next four-year cycle. The grant requires we serve low-income families whose children are struggling academically. Parents need to commit to their child attending daily Monday through Thursday. Contact your child's principal to learn if your child qualifies. Programs include:

  • Academic, artistic and cultural opportunities for children, especially for students who attend high-poverty schools, to improve skills in reading, math and science.

  • Activities to include families and the community in the educational process. After-school snacks will be provided.

  •  SFPS works with community partners to provide enriching after-school program experiences, including:

    • Audubon NM

    • Santa Fe Botanical Garden

    • Museum of International Folk Art

    • Georgia O'Keeffe Museum

    • New Mexico History Museum
