A native Santa Fean, Jodie attended SFPS (Salazar, DeVargas) and graduated from SFHS. She received her Accounting Certificate from Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute. She has worked in the Accounting field for over 28 years. She is currently the Finance Director for WildEarth Guardians. She has been involved with SFPS (Turquoise Trail, Sweeney, Ramirez Thomas, Capshaw, Ortiz, Capital and ATC) as a volunteer. She has served as a parent representative on a number of Principal Committees, Construction Committees and the SFPS Oversight Committee. Her daughter attends UNM and her son attends ATC.
Community Review Committee
The Community Review Committee (CRC) meets monthly to review and prioritize the building projects for Santa Fe Public Schools. Each member of the School Board appoints two members to the CRC for two-year terms. The CRC leader presents its recommendations to the School Board for approval before a project can start.

Sarah Boses, Co-Chair
Sarah Boses was born and raised in Santa Fe, educated in the Santa Fe Public Schools and is a proud graduate of Santa Fe High School. She attended New Mexico State University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Sarah moved to Florida after graduating from college, where she found her passion working as an oncology nurse. She also found a passion for advocacy and healthcare policy and has been to Capitol Hill on several occasions to speak with lawmakers. In 2016, Sarah returned to Santa Fe with her husband to raise their children in her beautiful and diverse hometown. She is married to Simon Boses, a ceramic sculptor and educator. They have four kids - Quinn and McMillan, who attend El Dorado Community School, Parker, who will start Kindergarten there in 2020, and Cecilia, who recently graduated from Columbia University and lives in New York City. In her spare time, Sarah likes to garden and cook/bake. She sews all her own clothing.

Dax Contreras

Dax is a public school graduate from Mesilla, New Mexico and has a BBA and MS from New Mexico State University with a background in energy and systems engineering. He currently is a systems engineering team lead at Los Alamos National Laboratory and lives in Santa Fe with his wife and three children.

Liz Elmquist

Liz Elmquist is originally from Columbus, Ohio. She and her family relocated to New Mexico in 2019, after living in Brooklyn, NY, for just shy of 20 years. Formerly a professional modern dancer, Liz is now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for New Vistas, where she serves as a family therapist, Developmental Specialist, and a Circle of Security Facilitator, for children/families receiving Early Intervention services. She lives in Lamy with her husband, two daughters, and a greyhound named Cassie. Liz is passionate about public education, having grown up in the public school system in Columbus, and she is humbled by the opportunity to serve on the Community Review Committee.

Kristen Pelz

Kristen Pelz is originally from Denver, Colorado and lives in Santa Fe with her husband and two young daughters (born in 2019 and 2021). She attended Denver Public Schools, K – 12, and is now a forest ecologist and analysis team leader for the USDA Forest Service. Kristen believes strong public schools are essential for strong communities, and that carefully-designed built environments can make everyone’s lives better.

Philip Gudwin

Philip Gudwin is a native of Brooklyn, New York. He attended Brooklyn College and Brooklyn Museum School of Art and worked as a sculptor-artist and freelance photographer before moving to Santa Fe in 1978. His photographs have been published in a number of books and magazines. Philip began his commercial real estate career in Manhattan and continued working in the field when he moved to Santa Fe in 1978. In addition to managing and brokering real estate, Philip Gudwin developed a number of commercial projects in Santa Fe, and was co-owner of French & French Fine Properties from 1995-2002. He has been an active member of the Realtors Association of New Mexico, serving on the government affairs committee, and has also served on the professional standards committee of the Santa Fe Association of Realtors. Philip enjoys spending time with his wife, Barbara, and their two daughters, Sari and Ariel. As for recreation, Philip is an avid golfer and fly-fisherman.

April Gallegos

April Gallegos is a native Santa Fean and she was educated in the Santa Fe Public Schools. After receiving her BS from NMSU, April returned to Santa Fe where she worked in hotel convention sales for many years. Currently, she is a sales manager at TOURISM Santa Fe. April is fortunate to promote Santa Fe's many assets to national organizations wishing to host their conferences in Santa Fe, while helping to grow Santa Fe’s tourism industry and economy. April, and her husband, have a daughter who also attends Santa Fe Public Schools. April is a board member on the Gonzales Community School PTA. Volunteering at her daughter's school has enabled her family to be immersed in their school community, which is a tremendous benefit when it comes to receiving a quality education.

Jackie Case

Jackie is a partner in the Santa Fe office of Hinkle Shanor, LLP, where she began working after graduating from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2009. Jackie's husband is a history teacher at Mandela International Magnet School, and together they stay busy trying to keep up with their daughter (a Wood Gormley student) and son.

Jessica Johnson Shelton

Jessica grew up in a military family, attending public schools in all the locations across the U.S. that she called home as a child, and she watched as her father served as a public school teacher and basketball coach for many years after retiring from the Air Force. These experiences helped to instill in Jessica the importance of public education to communities and students. Jessica earned a degree in political science at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and earned a law degree at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, where she specialized in environmental and animal law. After working for several years in Washington, D.C., she and her husband moved to Santa Fe in 2015 to embark on the rest of their lives in the beautiful Southwest and to start a family. Jessica currently does government affairs work for a New Mexico animal protection nonprofit organization. She is mother to two young daughters, Suvi and Minna, as well as two rescue dogs and a flock of pet chickens.

Susan Finger

I am originally from the Chicago area. I spent most of my career life as a Staff Officer and Building Operations Manager for The First National Bank of Chicago. My work encompassed day-to-day oversight for approximately two million square feet of owned and rental offsite property as well as directing Hazmat, Asbestos, Indoor Air Quality, ADA, and Right to Know Act regulations for all operational personnel. I also represented The First Nation Bank at the Building Operations and Management Association where I was a member of the Codes and Regulations Committee and The Chairman of the Education Committee.
After 17 years, I took a step back from Corporate America and changed to a more family-friendly work environment. I joined Quest Academy a school for Gifted Preschool through 8th-grade students, as a Teaching Assistant where I spent a wonderful almost 10 years.
My husband was transferred in 2008 to the Union Pacific Home Office in Omaha. Where I was fortunate to work for Mary Reckmeyer Ph.D. in the Gallup company’s Donald O. Clifton Child Development Center. My Husband Bruce and I retired after 8 years and we headed to Santa Fe. I decided to continue to work with children and obtained an EA job at EJ Martinez.
I have spent my time here in Santa Fe volunteering for The Folk Art Market, Meow Wolf (during Construction where I painted those lovely Black walls) and the Folk Art Museum Annual Flea Market.

Roman "Tiger" Abeyta

Roman “Tiger” Abeyta was born in Santa Fe, raised on the southside of Santa Fe and graduated from Capital High School. His father, Chris Abeyta, and his mother, Jennie Salazar, are from Canyon Road and their families have been in Santa Fe since it was a Spanish Colony in 1610. Tiger served over 20 years in our City and County governments. Today he is the Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Fe/ Del Norte that serves Children and families in Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, and San Miguel County. He is a former member of the City Council, he coaches both girl's and boy’s youth basketball, and he and his wife Geraldine have five sons, a grandson and a granddaughter.

I am from Santa Fe and have lived here all of my life. I have been the school nurse at Aspen for 10 years! I have watched many children and families grow throughout my time here and I just love it. I was originally a labor and delivery nurse, but school nursing is my passion!
In my free time, I like to cook, garden, read, travel, fish, camp and spend time with my family and three dogs. I also love to just hang out and binge watch television.
