SFPS Music Department Overview
Santa Fe Public Schools offers comprehensive music education curricula in all schools as an integral component of core academic programming. Despite what might be seen as a national crisis in the state of music education, SFPS continues to fully fund its' music programs. One hundred percent of elementary students receive a weekly curriculum in music, and band, choir, and orchestra are offered on a daily basis at every middle and high school, with some schools also offering guitar or piano. Under the aegis of a formally constituted music department, our schools provide every child the opportunity to participate every year, in all grade levels, in music programs of excellence.
