Dr. Veronica C. Garcia, former Superintendent of Santa Fe Public Schools, has been appointed interim Superintendent.
With a distinguished 48-year career in public education, García has served twice as Santa Fe’s superintendent and was the state’s first secretary of public education under former Gov. Bill Richardson. She has also worked as a teacher and principal.
An Albuquerque native, she considers Santa Fe a second home.
