Welcome to the Arts Education Department!



The SFPS Art Department provides an exceptional, comprehensive, standards-based program of art education to K-12 students in Santa Fe public schools. We prepare children and youth for college, career, and/or lifelong engagement with the arts.  

Department Profile
  • 37 teachers
  • 2 staff members
  • 1 mentor / instructional coach
  • Every Elementary student receives 50 minutes of weekly art instruction
  • Most Middle School students receive 50 minutes of daily art instruction
  • Art offerings at the High School level include Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Crafts, Photography and Film.
  • Santa Fe High School offers AP Studio Art as an elective.
