SFPS’ four-year graduation rate for 2022-23 grew to 83.1 percent, an increase of one percent, as reported by the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED).
“SFPS’ overall graduation rate is rising, meaning that more students are graduating ready for college and careers. This wonderful achievement is the direct result of teachers’ hard work and dedication in classrooms across the district. SFPS is united in seeking to reach new heights in learning, and it shows. Congratulations to all,” said Superintendent Hilario “Larry” Chavez.
The PED also released the 2022-23 graduation rates for SFPS’ high schools, as follows:
Mandela International Magnet School: >90 percent, a substantive increase over 2021-22
Early College Opportunities High School (ECO): 88.9 percent, an increase of 13.9 percent over 2021-22
Santa Fe High School: 82.2 percent, an increase of 2.2 percent over 2021-22
Capital High School: 82 percent, a very slight decrease from 2021-22
Desert Sage Academy: 50 percent a decrease of 7 percent over 2021-22.
“More and more, our seniors are graduating from high school, which is an exciting milestone. The graduation rates for Mandela and Early College Opportunities High School are nothing short of amazing: Mandela is close to 100 percent and ECO has grown 14 percent in just one year. And our traditional high schools are holding steady, with graduation rates near the district’s average. Given its small school size, Desert Sage Academy is an outlier. Our quest is to support each student in becoming an SFPS graduate and crossing the finish line, and we will get there,” said Superintendent Chavez.
