Chaparral Elementary

This is a shoutout to Chaparral Elementary. Recently, members of the Wellness Team at Chaparral greeted families at morning drop-off with doughnuts and hot chocolate to show appreciation for bringing their student(s) on time. This is just one of the efforts put together to increase attendance. It was such a delight to see the joy from the families and the surprise on their faces at the treat. I'm very fortunate to work at Chaparral as a site coordinator with Communities in Schools. The sense of community in this school is truly magical. You can feel that sense of it from the staff and when the principal reminds students every morning that they are "loved and cared for."
