Santa Fe Public Schools currently has about 60 National Board Certified Educators. At the 1/27/2023 Board Meeting, SFPS would like to recognize and celebrate the new and renewed National Board Certified SFPS staff who achieved in the academic year of 2019-2020 (when COVID-19 pandemic hit) up to our current academic year 2022-2023.
National Board Certification is a rigorous process that requires submitting portfolios with evidence of student engagement and learning, in addition to a computer-based assessment of the chosen certification area (up to 25 certification areas for teachers, counselors and nurses).
National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools. It was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide.
