SFPS is seeking your opinion on whether to continue with masks in the public schools. Yesterday, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham lifted the mask mandate, effective immediately, and made continued masking in the schools a local decision. Your voice matters! Please respond to the survey by noon on Sunday, February 20th. We will inform our school community on Monday regarding masking.

Due to snow packed roads and icy conditions in some parts of the District that would prohibit the safe transportation of students to school, all school sites are CLOSED. Students in grades 9-12 will be in remote synchronous learning today. Grades K-8, please contact your child’s teacher(s) regarding parent-teacher conferences.
All district staff should report as soon as it is safe to do so.

Dealing with the bumps in the virtual Spelling Bee was just another way our Gonzales students showed their perseverance this year! We were so proud to have Lorenzo (4th grade) and Logan (3rd grade) represent Gonzales in the Santa Fe County Spelling Bee on Friday. These dedicated students were the top finishers in our school Spelling Bee, held in December.

We couldn't let School Counselors Week pass without recognizing our own Ms. Heather - our extraordinary school counselor, colleague, and friend!

3rd grade is putting in the work for NDI!

Currently on display in our lobby: Inspired by the Brazilian Artist, Romero Britto, 3rd grade students worked with elements of cubism and pop art to create joyful animal portraits. Thanks to Ms. Goetz for sharing these works with the school.

On Friday we celebrated our amazing colleague, Ms. Anna Durr, and her 16 years at Gonzales. We wish her much success as she moves on to new adventures! #lobostrong
