Out of an abundance of caution, due to low temperatures, unclear side roads and possible ice across the district, all schools will be on a 2-hour delay today, January 9th, 2024, to provide additional time for buses to safely transport students to schools. We will have an update at 7 AM tomorrow. This means that buses will run two hours later than during normal times. If you drop your child off at school, please remember that staff will also be on a two-hour delay. Full-day Pre-K programs are also on a two-hour delay. Morning Pre-K programs have been canceled. Afternoon Pre-K programs will operate on a regular schedule.

Due to road conditions in some parts of the District that would prohibit the safe transportation of students to school, all schools will be closed. This is not a remote learning day.

Out of an abundance of caution, due to icy road conditions and freezing temperatures developing overnight in some parts of the district, Santa Fe Public Schools will start Friday, January 5th on a two-hour delay. We will continue to assess road conditions and update with any changes by 7 AM.

Santa Fe Public Schools is open and following its regular schedule. School buses are also operating under their normal schedule. Area roads were not snow-packed this morning, which informed our decision to open schools. The district does not release students early on snow days once they're in school as there's no guarantee that someone will be at the student's home when they arrive. Parents can decide to keep their children home due to safety concerns. District staff is working at each school site to clear snow and prep the school grounds. Roads are also being cleared by city crews.
